4th of July in Round Top, Texas!

This past 4th of July, I had the amazing experience of spending America's birthday in Round Top, Texas.  For those of you that are not familiar with Round Top, you are missing something special.  A tiny town of 77 in Fayette County, this precious and cultured area is home to the Round Top Antiques Fair, The International Festival - Institute at Round Top, and Shakespere at Winedale, which each attract thousands of visitors to the area each year.

The morning of the 4th of July is special here in this tiny hamlet of the Lone Star State where they are host to the oldest Independence Day parade west of the Mississippi.  This year's parade was apparently the 160th annual celebration!  Everyone in attendance was clad in red, white and blue and the parade was wonderful.  An estimated 8,000 people lined the streets to cheer for the stars and stripes!  And to top it off Governor Rick Perry himself was in attendance to open the festivities.  It was true Americana at its best and made us all proud to be American and delighted to be in Round Top!

So next year if you get the opportunity, spend the 4th of July in Round Top, Texas.  You will not be disappointed and in fact I bet will want top come back the following year too.   It is already on our calendar!

Round Top, Texas, is one of the most interesting and special places in Texas and is located in the "Rolling Hills" part of Texas.  If you would like information on real estate available in this area, contact Rolling Hills Land Company for more information.  www.rollinghillslandcompany.com
